When a tree falls in the forest, its story doesn’t end… it transforms. Beneath the bark and within the softening wood, a whole new world begins to grow, crawl, and thrive.
In this hands-on homeschool program, students will explore the full life cycle of trees—from seedling to towering giant, and finally to a fallen log teeming with life. Along the way, we’ll uncover the fascinating process of decomposition and the important role it plays in keeping forests healthy.
Students will get an up-close look at the hidden habitat inside fallen logs, discovering the insects, fungi, and small creatures that depend on them for shelter and survival. Through guided exploration and interactive learning, participants will gain a deeper understanding of how forests recycle and renew themselves.
Each student will receive a “Logs of Life” booklet to document their observations and continue learning beyond the program.
